PURPOSE:A repellent for organisms in water having a sufficient antifouling effect for a long period, obtained by blending a maleimide with S-p-chlorobenzyl-N,N- diethylthiolcarbamate. CONSTITUTION:A repellent for organisms in water containing an active ingredient obtained by blending S-p-chlorobenzyl-N,N-diethylthiolcarbamate with a maleimide [e.g., N-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)maleimide, etc.] shown by the formula (R is halogen, alkyl, or alkoxy; n is 1-3) in a weight ratio of preferably (10- 90):(90:10). This repellent for organisms in water is prepared in the form of a coating compound, solution, emulsion, wettable powder, etc. and used.
