PURPOSE:To keep a constant air-fuel ratio as well as to aim at improvements in exhaust emission control and fuel consumption, by keeping a bleed air regulating valve instantaneously at the setting opening in time of acceleration at the initial stage, while making feedback control in and around the setting air-fuel ratio startable at once. CONSTITUTION:Opening a throttle valve 4, when an accelerating drive gets starting, a throttle switch 5 reaches to a sensitive opening theta and turned on. At this time, since a controller 1 once holds a valve 2 at the setting position via a driving circuit 14, the air-fuel ratio of a fed air-fuel mixture is suddenly controlled to turn to a theoretical air-fuel ratio whereby carbon monoxide is almost in no case exhausted owing to the emission control action of a ternary catalyzer 8 and afterward such feedback control as in the same way as the normal case can be achieved. Thus, it comes into a constant air-fuel state all the time at the initial stage of acceleration so that not only the capacity of exhaust emission control becomes higher but also fuel consumption can be improved. |
