PURPOSE:To shorten the time needed for input of data through the end of the on-line processing with a host processor, by setting up a communication circuit during input of the data. CONSTITUTION:The articles sent from an input part 3 or a scanning part 5 are registered and the amounts of sold articles are totalized and displayed on a display part 2. A magnetic card reader 11 reads the magnetic cards to perform the on-line processing with a host processing part. Then a detailed statement, a receipt, etc. are produced through a printing part 4. Here the set-up processing of a circuit is started previously during input of data and an executing state monitoring part 9 monitors the state of the circuit as the preprocessing on the on-line processing. Then the on-line processing is carried out after the circuit is set up. Thus the waiting time for start of the on-line processing is virtually eliminated compared with conventional 20-30sec. |
