In a process for the recovery of Re and W from scrap rhenium-tungsten alloys, the alloy is first solubilised electrochemically in a 4-5N NaOH soln. Red is then extracted from the resulting soln. with an organic hetero atom-contg. solvent (I). The (I) is distilled and the resulting Na perrhenate is converted into ammonium perrhenate 3N by ion exchange. The refined prod., after dilution with not > an equal vol. of water and neutralisation with H2SO4 to pH = 1, is extracted with a soln. of trioctylamine in kerosene with the addn. of octylalcohol, to extract the tungsten, then the tungsten is re-extracted from the organic phase with ammonia. The process is quicker and simpler to operate than prior art processes, and gives a high degree of sepn. and recovery.
|
