PURPOSE:To reduce the dispersion of anisotropy without increasing the coercive force of a soft magnetic thin film even if an insulating film is reduced in thickness by previously magnetizing a permanent magnet film before foring a soft magnetic thin film such as Permalloy, then forming a soft magnetic thin film. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet film 4 and insulating films 3, 5 are contained in a gap. To shorten the length of the gap, it is effective to reduce the thickness of the layers 3, 5. The thickness may be approx. 0.5mum or less. To reduce the dispersion of the anisotropy of the soft magnetic thin film on the insulating layer, the magnetizing direction of the permanent magnet film which is previously magnetized is allowed to coincide with the desired magnetization susceptible axis direction of the soft magnetic material such as a Permalloy, and such magneto-resistance effect element can produce output having less noise. |
