PURPOSE:To speedily remove foreign matter and prevent a blade and a printing plate from being damaged due to foreign matter, by providing a linear form foreign matter removing recessed part at a front part and/or a rear part of a pattern-forming recessed part on a printing surface, in an intaglio printing plate such as a gravure printing plate or a direct-engraved intaglio printing plate. CONSTITUTION:The recessed part 3, 11 for removing foreign matter is provided on the upstream side in a doctoring direction 4, 16 of the pattern-forming recessed part 2 provided in the printing plate 1, 10. When the doctoring direction is both directions 4, 5, the recessed part 6 for removing foreign matter is provided also on the opposite side of the pattern-forming recessed part 2. The recessed parts 3, 6, 11 are made to have a depth of not smaller than 10mum and a line width of not smaller than 30mum, preferably not smaller than 50mum, and the shape thereof may be a point form, a linear form, a net form or other various forms. With the recessed part for removing foreign matter provided, when doctoring by the blade 12, foreign matter containing in an ink 13 is first dropped into the recessed part, so that the printing plate 1, 10 and the blade 12 can be prevented from being damaged by the foreign matter. |
