PURPOSE:To contrive the curtailment of equipment and running costs and the alleviation of maintenance and overhauling, by adding Na2S and Al2(SO4)3 to waste water containing heavy metals and F, and agitatively mixing said waste water to coagulatively separate insoluble metal sulfides and insoluble fluoric compounds at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Waste water containing heavy metals and F is introduced into a mixer tank 62, and one or both of Na2S and NaHS are injected therein through an injector pipe 67 and reacted with heavy metals existent in the waste water to form insoluble metal oxides. Then, one or both of Al2(SO4)3 or poly(aluminum chloride) are injected through an injector pipe 68 in another mixer tank 63. Then, a pH is properly adjusted by the injection of a pH adjusting agent through an alkali injector pipe 69 or an acid injector pipe 70 in a mixer tank 64. Hence, insoluble metal sulfides and insoluble fluoric compounds are taken in the formed aluminum hydroxide, and soluble fluoric compounds are adsorbed thereon. Thereafter, a macromolecular coagulant is injected through an injector pipe 71 in a mixer tank 65, and treated water and precipitated sludge are discharged from a precipitation tank 66 through drain pipes 72, 73, respectively.
