PURPOSE:To provide a long-life instantaneously-stabilized Hg-Xe electric-discharge lamp having no reduction in the amount of ultraviolet-ray production by adding a minute amount of HgI2 in addition to Hg. CONSTITUTION:In an Hg-Xe electric-discharge lamp in which Hg and Xe contribute to electric discharge, a minute amount of HgI2 is added in addition to Hg. Such a lamp provides for a long-life instantaneously-stabilized electric- discharge lamp which is suitable for a shutterless-type printing-ink drier and in which the amount of ultravoilet-ray production which is the essential function of a lamp is not decreased. |
