PURPOSE:To improve fixing performance and reduce a driving load by composing a roller for a fixing device of a roller body and a surface layer which is attachable to and detachable from the roller body, and holding them relatively movably. CONSTITUTION:The pressure roller body formed by adhering a relatively thick elastic body layer 22 fixedly to the outer circumferential surface of a metallic roller core 21 is equipped detachably with a relatively thin tube type elastic body which is heat stripping resistance to form the surface coating layer 23. Then, the coating layer of a lubricant is interposed between the coating layer 23 and roller body. Consequently, the coefficient of friction between the roller body and the coating layer 23 is decreased and the coating layer 23 is moved at the same speed with a recording material and the surface of a fixing roller during fixation. Further, recessed parts and projection parts are provided over the entire circumference of the roller as the engagement parts to prevent the roller body 30 and coating layer 40 from moving axially. Thus, the fixing performance is improved and the driving load is reduced. |
