PURPOSE:To reduce a residual noise, a distortion rate and a power consumption, irrespective of a shape of a head by recording two kinds of AC signals whose phase is effectively different from each other in a recording track by shifting the position in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:When a head 2 and 3 are shifted and placed in the direction of a width W1 of a recording track T, and the recording track T runs in the direction A, an erasing signal is overwritten and recorded extending over its whole width W1 by the head 2, and an old video signal becomes an erased state. Subsequently, an erasing signal is further overwritten and recorded extending over a width W2 in the lower half part of the recording track T by the head 3, and as for the part of the width W2, it becomes a state that recording by the head 2 is erased. Rwcording signals by the head 2 and the head 3 become an opposite phase to each other by a 180 degree phase shifter 15, etc., or an interval between the heads, therefore, in the upper half part and the lower half part of the recording track T, the magnetizing direction is inverted each other, a magnetic flux is offset effectively, a residual magnetic flux is eliminated, and an erased state is obtained. |
