CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula [(CP)SoL is a residual coupler group and has the characteristic that the dye formed when the compd. makes coupling reaction with the oxidant of the color developing agent flows out from the silver halide photosensitive material in the alkali environment existing during photographic processing; A is the group having the effect of accelerating development by desorbing when the compd. makes coupling reaction with the oxidant of the color developing agent] is added at 0.1-100mol% for each 1mol of a color coupler in a silver halide emulsion contg. the color coupler. Such silver halide emulsion is coated on a base and is dried, by which a silver halide emulsion layer is formed. The silver halide photosensitive material which is free from color clouding and deterioration of the photographic characteristic with age is thus obtd.
