The method according to the invention consists in determining the combinations of signs of increase of the parameters at the outputs of an item of equipment to be adjusted 2 of a regulator 3 and the case of the zero increase in the quantities, in mutually comparing the said combinations corresponding to the normal and real regimes and, if there is a mismatch, in cutting off the item of equipment to be adjusted.
