This process is used for coil-springs, plate-springs and torsion-bars, and in the manufacturing process may be used for all products requiring a plastic-working procedure. After quenchable steel of 0.17-0.65% C, 0.15-2.2% Si, and 0.07-1.65% Mn, is heated above the austenite transforming temp., it is quenched. By high-frequency induction heating, it is heated until it reaches the desired temp. Once the temp. is reached, the steel is cooled again. This results in a cold plastic workable steel of more than 150kg/mm2. to temper the steel, it is reheated to 300-500≦̸C for 30-50 min. and then low temp. tempering is performed.
