HERMETICALLY CLOSED COMPRESSOR

PURPOSE:To prevent the main body of a compressor from vibrating within a hermetically closed case by providing a pair or more of pressure balance holes at opposite positions and cancelling the reaction of flowing coolant gas by the pair of the pressure balance holes. CONSTITUTION:Pressure balance holes 19 respectively pass through the center of a crank case 18, and are provided at substantially opposite positions in the horizontal direction so as to form a pair. IN this case, the pressure balance holes 19 are provided at positions amply high from the oil level for preventing the oil 2 from foaming. The total opening area of the pressure balance holes 19 is selected to a value which is in the proximity of the cross sectional area for one cylindrical part of a cylinder 11 or 12. For this reason, the reaction of the coolant gas flowing through the pressure balance holes is prevented from inflicting on a crank case 8, and the vibration of the main body of the compressor within a hermetically closed case through the pressure balance holes 19 can also be prevented.
