PURPOSE:To produce a thermoplastic resin excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance and weather resistance and good in moldability, by copolymerizing a specified polymerizable monomer with an imido group-containing compound in the presence of a crosslinked acrylic rubber. CONSTITUTION:90-50pts.wt. polymerizable monomer mixture prepared by mixing 10-40wt% vinyl cyanide compound, e.g., (meth)acrylonitrile, with 30-90wt% aromatic vinyl compound, e.g., styrene, and 3-30wt% imido group-containing compound of formula I (wherein R is a 2-54C monovalent organic group), e.g., a compound of formula II, so that the total may be 100wt% is copolymerized in the presence of 10-50pts.wt. crosslinked acrylic rubber (e.g., one obtained by copolymerizing n-butyl acrylate with triallyl cyanurate). It is possible to obtain a weather-resistant, impact-resistant, thermoplastic resin composition, excellent in heat resistance and moldability. |
