PURPOSE:To improve the S/N of optomagnetic recording by providing a recording magnetic layer to a protective layer, a dielectric layer to the recording magnetic layer and further, a reflecting magnetic layer to the dielectric layer. CONSTITUTION:The reflecting magnetic layer 6 of amorphous vertical magnetization film having the Kerr effect is provided on a base 5, and the vertical magnetizing film added with Tb to a GdTb system and a GdCo system, for example, is used. The dielectric layer 3 made of, e.g., SiO2, SiO or the like is provided on the magnetic layer 6 to increase the apparent Kerr rotation angle by the interference effect. The recording magnetic layer 2 added with Tb to the GdTb system and the GdCo system, for example, is provided on the dielectric layer 3. Further, the protecting film 1 made of, e.g., SiO2, SiO or the like is provided on the magnetic layer 2 to protect the magnetic layer 2 and to increase the apparent Kerr rotation angle. The S/N of the optomagnetic recording is increased further in this way. Further, a magnetic garnet or the like is used also as the layer 3. Further, a read face is constituted as the base side. |
