PURPOSE:To improve a web deviation correcting ability, by a method wherein the surface of a roller for correcting web deviation takes the form of a mat, a distance between 2 rollers is set to a specified value to the width of the web, and a wrap angle of the web to the roller is set to between 88-92 deg.. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal deviation of a web F is detected by a detecting member 3, and in response to the detecting signal, a cylinder 4 is actuated to change twist angles of two parallel rollers 2a and 2b located on the upstream or the downstream side of the web F. The surface of each of the rollers 2a and 2b for correcting deviation of the web is grooved or forms a mat, a distance between the two rollers 2a and 2b is set to a value which is 0.3-1.0 times as wide as the width of the web F, a wrap angle of the web F to the rollers 2a and 2b is set to between 88-95 deg., and this improves the rollers' ability to correct deviation of the web on the rollers 2a and 2b. |
