PURPOSE:To test the collision detecting function and the retransmitting function of a node without having the influence upon an actual network by controlling a carrier transmitting circuit to transmit a carrier to a transmission line and generating a collision on the transmission line when a carrier detecting circuit detects a carrier on the transmission line. CONSTITUTION:For example ''1'' is set to a collision number setting part LS. When a packet is transmitted from a node 50 onto a bus 12, its carrier is detected by a carrier detecting part CS, and the carrier detecting part CS starts a control part CTL. In accordance with this start, the control part CTL controls a carrier transmitting part CO to transmit a carrier from a collision generating device 10 onto the bus. As the result, this transmitted carrier collides with the carrier from the node 50 on the bus 12. This collision is detected by a transceiver of the node 50. Then, the control part CTL counts up contents of a collision number counting part CC by one, and its counted value is compared with contents of the collision number setting part LS. When they coincide with each other, the control part CTL stops the operation of the device 10. |
