The invention relates to a sheet distributing device to act as a sorting device in a sheet stacker for folded sheets, which are fed from buckle folding machines, pocket folders or the folding mechanism of a printing press and are stacked for further processing, with the aim of sorting out wrongly folded sheets from a conveying stream of folded sheets arriving in rapid succession. The device is to ensure a high degree of operational reliability and to be of simple design. The object of the invention is achieved in that an additional horizontal conveying system with controlled pivoting rollers which guide the sheet in the desired direction is located above the admission point of a horizontal conveying plane which consists of two conveying systems and in that under the said additional horizontal conveying system are arranged two vertical conveying systems which convey the sheet away downwards between them and one upper conveyor drum of which is arranged offset in relation to a conveyor drum of the horizontal conveying system, and in that the said conveyor drums move in opposite directions.
