PURPOSE:To make fillet welding of precipitated or bent weld line correctly at specified speed without positional deviation by providing a speed encoder and a lateral shifting detector in a follow-up roller. CONSTITUTION:When a truck 10 is run and gas welding is started, the distance between a standing board 30 and rail 12 changes with running of the truck 10. Consequently, a roller 32 goes back and forth and output of a potentiometer 36 changes. A guide arm 16 advances until output becomes ''0'', and a torch 24 is automatically controlled to make welding aiming at a weld line A at all times. When the truck 10 runs, the roller 32 comes into contact with the standing board 30 and rolls on the standing board 30, and the encoder 34 generates pulse. This pulse period indicates speed of rotation of the roller 32, and the number of pulse indicates the number of rotations of the roller 32. |
