PURPOSE:To easily maintain an intake hole for deep sea water as well as very safely construct the intake hole by a method in which excavation is made down to near rockbed where deep sea water is to be taken from the ground's surface, a chamber is constructed, and large numbers of water-collecting holes which can be easily opened or closed in the deep sea are drilled from the chamber. CONSTITUTION:A tunnel 11 is excavated to near rocked face 12 where sea water is to be taken from the ground's surface 2, and a chamber 13 is constructed on the tip end of the tunnel 11. Boring is made from the chamber 13 toward the deep sea to form water-collecting holes 15 provided with stop valves 16. In the same procedure, large number of water-collecting holes 15 are drilled, all the stop valves 16 are closed, water is charged into the chamber 13 from the ground's surface, and after the completion of water charging, the stop valves 16 are opened by remote control operation or explosion to cause the chamber 13 to lead to the deep sea. The intake hole for deep sea water can thus be excavated very safely. |
