PURPOSE:To obtain cellulase in high yield, by cultivating a specific microorganism belonging to the genus Acremonium. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism belonging to the genus Acremonium was not known to have strong cellulase productivity conventionally, Acremonium cellulyticus (FERM P6867) having strong cellulose productivity is separated. This microorganism is cultivated in a medium containing cellulose as a carbon source aerobically under aerobic conditions, to give a large amount of cellulase. Cellulase is a combined enzyme consisting of three kinds of enzyme groups of C1 enzyme, Cx enzyme, and beta-glucosidase. By harmonized interaction of the enzyme groups, natural cellulose is completely hydrolyzed into glucose. |
