PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording material having an excellent electrical characteristic, durability and traveling property by irradiating an electron ray to a coating layer contg. a compd. having an unsatd. bond that can be polymerized by the electron ray in its protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic layer contg. ferromagnetic powder is coated on a nonmagnetic base and thereafter a layer of a compd. compsn. having an unstad. bond that can be polymerized by an electron ray is provided thereon and the electron ray is irradiated thereto . The compd. having the unsatd. bond that can be polymerized by the electron ray is a compd. having >=1 carbon-carbon unsatd. bond and a compd. contg. an acryloyl group, acrylamide group, allyl group, vinyl ether group, vinyl thioether group, etc. as well as an unstad. polyester. The compd. having the unsatd. bond that can be polymerized by the electron ray can be coated after the compd. is diluted with an org. solvent. A scanning system, double scanning system or curtain beam system, broad beam curtain system, etc. are usable as an electron ray accelerator. |
