PURPOSE:To reduce the number of executing instructions and to improve processing capability when a conditional branch is implemented by providing a branch conditional setting instruction for setting an expected comparison result and a branch destination, a comparison instruction, etc. CONSTITUTION:When the address of the branch conditional setting instruction is indicated by an instruction execution address register 1, the condition of the setting instruction is set in a register 6 for the expected comparison result through a memory 2, etc. Further, the branch destination of the setting instruction is stored in a register 7. A comparison instruction executing circuit 8 makes a comparison and checks whether the comparison result coincides with the contents of the register 6 or not. When not, a counter 9 inputs the address of the next instruction to the register 1 and the next instruction is executed. When the result is coincident, the contents of the register 7 are inputted to the register 1 without the intervention of the counter 9 and a branch is caused to reduce the number of executed instructions, improving the processing capability.
