The invention concerns a method of producing an entirely dense, pore-free object 1 from a metal alloy. The object is shaped by casting in a thin-wall casting mould 2. The object 1 with surrounding casting mould 2 is surrounded by a gas-tight layer 10, of glass for example. The object 1 is heated to a temperature at which the material in the object 1 is plastically deformable and subjected to a gas pressure on all sides. The glass layer 10 prevents gas from getting into the object 1 and into pores 3, 5, 6 and cracks 4 therein. The mould 2 prevents glass from getting into pores 3, 5 and cracks 4 which emerge at the surface of the object. The pressure forces together any cracks 4 and pores 3, 5, 6 and produces a perfectly dense, homogeneous object 1. <IMAGE> |
