The present invention relates to a load-tapping switch for a transformer. The switch comprises an element S of self-inductor type provided with an intermediate tap S1, a series of terminals B1-B4 connected to respective taps of the transformer T, a plurality of interrupt members I1-I4,I'1-I'4 capable of connecting one of the said terminals B1-B4 to one of the ends S2, S3 of the self-inductance element S, the interrupt members being associated in pairs and possessing in respect of each of the latter a common pole P1-P4 connected to an associated terminal B1-B4, while the second pole of the interrupt members of each pair is connected to a respective end S2, S3 of the self-inductance element S, as well as control means for controlling the opening and closing of the interrupt members I1-I4,I'1-I'4. <IMAGE>
