<p>PURPOSE:To avoid an erroneous input and to eliminate the ineffective input of correct pen touch to improve the working efficiency, by comparing the layout codes corresponding to the detected coordinates with each other to decide the validity or invalidity of an input to a boundary. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 12 detects the X and Y data in the form of a pen touch to an unconditional input region in case one detection signal exists with the output threshold value TA of a D/A converter after one scan is applied to an X or Y electrode line group. When no detection signal is obtained, the threshold value is reduced down to TB in the form of a pen touch to a conditional input region. Then the second scan is carried out to obtain two detection signals. Based on these signals, the different X data holding a touch point between them are detected. Then the coordinates covering two key regions is specified both data, and the layout codes stored previously in a layout ROM22 are read out and compared with each other. Then the coincidence or discordance of said comparison decides the validity or invalidity of pen touch.</p> |
