PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrically conductive and heat resistant Al alloy for manufacturing an Al alloy wire with superior heat resistance and electric conductivity by continuously casting an Al alloy contg. specified amounts of Zr, Fe and B and by hot working the cast alloy. CONSTITUTION:To Al are added 0.015-0.066% Zr, 0.12-0.38% Fe and <0.002% B, and the composition is adjusted so as to satisfy an inequality Fe%/5+Zr%<= 0.09%. The resulting Al alloy is continuously cast so that cooling in the continuous casting is carried out at <=5 deg.C/sec rate, and the cast alloy is hot rolled at >90% draft to disperse crystallized Fe as fine grains. An Al alloy with superior heat resistance and electric conductivity is obtd., and the alloy is cold worked by drawing or other method to obtain an Al alloy wire for electric conduction with superior electric conductivity and strength.
