The invention relates to a method for renewing or repairing gas connecting devices. The invention is based on the object of carrying out the renewing or repairing in a particularly simple manner, without influencing the gas supply to other houses. This object is achieved in that the house connecting line is bored using a boring and shut-off apparatus, in that a plug is inserted into the house connecting line through this boring and shut-off apparatus, in that the old gas connecting device is removed and the new gas connecting device is then installed, and in that a sealing device is inserted into the gas transportation line from the house and is sealed in the gas transportation line, in front of the plug, by compressing the elastic ring, whereupon the plug is pulled out of the gas transportation line, the sealing device is subsequently pushed further beyond the boring point into the house connecting line, the boring apparatus is then removed and, after this, the sealing device is finally pulled out of the parts of the new gas connecting device.
