PURPOSE:To measure the temperature of a steel plate highly accurately and automatically by a simple structure, by computing and processing radiation energy, which is reflected by a movable reflecting plate having known reflectivity and thereafter reflected once by the steel plate to be measured, and direct radiation energy from the steel plate to be measured. CONSTITUTION:When a reflecting plate 2 is moved to a point shown by a dotted line by a scanning machine 4, radiation energy E<1> from a steel plate to be measured 1 is directly measured by a radiation thermometer 3. When the reflecting plat 2 is moved to a solid line by the scanning machine 4, the radiation energy from the steel plate 1 is reflected once by the reflecting plate 2 and once by the steel plate 1, and thereafter inputted to the radiation thermometer 3, and detected radiation energy E2 is imparted. Then relation E2/E1=1+r1r2 (where r1 and r2 are reflectivities of the steel plate 1 and the reflecting plate 2, respectively) is formed. When Kirchhoff's law is applied, the emissivity of the steel plate 1, i.e., the temperature, is accurately computed since r2 is known. |
