Method for producing very pure albumin from solutions of plasmatic proteins or starting substances containing albumin, comprising the treatment of the starting solution with an albumin content from 2 to 25 % by weight in the presence of 8.0 to 9.0 % by volume of isopropanol and in a temperature range from 66 to 70<o>C, whereafter the precipitate obtained is separated and the solution used for the albumin. After said process, it is also possible to treat pyrogenous starting substances if, to the solution of the process of which the albumin content is adjusted between 2 and 25 % by weight (corresponding to 100 parts), are admixed from 30 to 100 parts of COHN-fraction IV as well as plasmatic proteins of which the proportion of plasmatic protein substances represents between 10 and 20 parts, and if the mixture is then subjected to a thermal and alcoholic treatment.
