PURPOSE:To improve the performance of an engine, by increasing resistance to the flow of air-fuel mixture and keeping the density of air-fuel mixture within a proper range by disposing a vibrator plate in an intake passage in the manner that it causes resonance in a particular range of the engine speed, and causing vibration and said vibrator plate in said particular range of engine speed. CONSTITUTION:A vibrator plate 3 is disposed in an intake passage extended from an air cleaner to the cylinder of an engine, for instance, at the portion thereof located near the inlet 2 of a carburetor 1. One end 3a of the vibrator plate 3 is fixed, by means of screws 6 or the like, to a rod 5 which is extended across the bore of the intake passage and fixed to a housing 4 at its both ends, while the free end 3b of the vibrator plate 3 is extended along the axis of the bore of the intake passage. Further, slits 7 are formed in the vibrator plate 3 excluding the portion of the fixed end 3a so that its natural frequency can be selected at a proper value. By thus causing resonance vibration of the vibrator plate 3 at the time of particular engine speeds and thereby increasing resistance to the flow of air or air-fuel mixture, it is enabled to keep the density of air- fuel mixture within a proper range. |
