PURPOSE:To enable to keep required characteristics of a fuel injection equipment for a long while, by correcting change in the effective stroke of a plunger caused by mechanical wear by detecting the fuel compression starting timing and the fuel injection terminating timing. CONSTITUTION:Simultaneously with sarting of pressurization of fuel through the turning and lifting action of a plunger 6, pressurized fuel is introduced into a chamber 34, and a pulse voltage is produced from a piezo-electric element 35 in response to the rapid pressure rise of fuel and applied to a control unit 25 as a first timing signal A1. The fuel injection terminating timing is impressed on a piezo-electric element 42 each time cut-off fuel is discharged to an annular chamber 18 and it is applied also to the control unit 25 as a second timing signal A2. The control unit 25 controls the injection quantity of fuel by producing a drive control signal D on the basis of the above two timing signals A1, A2 after making correction for the mechanical wear of an injection pump. |
