PURPOSE:To attain simply the synchronism of tape traveling and to eliminate the limitation of high speed by connecting each capstan which drives both master and slave tapes and an intermediate pulley via belts and transmitting the revolving power of a driving motor to the capstans via the intermediate pully. CONSTITUTION:At the 1st and 2nd tape traveling parts 100 and 200, pulleys 103a and 203a fixed coaxially on flywheels 103 and 203 are connected to an intermediate pulley 104 via belts 105 and 205. These wheels 103 and 203 revolve synchronously with each other with revolution of the pulley 104. The pulley 104 is rotated by a motor via pulleys 104b and 104d. Tape speed switching idlers 113 and 213 are provided to low-speed motors 114 and 215 and then press-fixed to pulleys 116 and 216. Then the revolving power of the motor is transmitted to the pulleys 104b and 104d. Thus the deceleration ratio is easily switched between the high and low speed modes.
