PURPOSE:To provide a color photosensitive material having improved high contrast, sensitivity and developing property by incorporating a compd. which releases imagewise a coupler agent or development accelerator in said material. CONSTITUTION:A compd. expressed by the general formula COUP-(TIME)n-FA is incorporated in a titled material by at least 1% of the coupler incorporated in the emulsion layer having the same color sensitivity as the color sensitivity of the emulsion layer in which said compd. exists. COUP in the formula is the residual coupler group that can induce a coupling reaction with the oxidant of an arom. primary amine developer, TIME is a timing group which releases FA after desorption from the COUP by a coupling reaction, (n) is 0, 1, FA is a group which can be desorbed from the COUP in the coupling reaction when (n) is 0 and is the group which is released from the TIME when (n) is 1, and is the group contg. AD-L-X. AD is a group which can be adsorbed on silver halide particles, L is a combined divalent coupling group, X is a reducing group and the group having the group expressed by the formula as a partial structure.
