<p>PURPOSE:To reduce pumping loss upon decreased cylinder number engine operation for improving the consumption of fuel, by providing such an arrangement that when the detected load of a Diesel-engine is less than a predetermined value, the supply of fuel to a part of engine cylinders is cut off, while the exhaust valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 21 for controlling a Diesel-engine receives a load signal from a load sensor 10 and compares it with a predetermined set value to deliver a signal to a control circuit 31 if the actual load is lower. The control circuit 31 receiving this signal cuts off the supply of the fuel to a part of engine cylinders through a fuel supply device 51, and as well, opens a solenoid valve 42 through a drive circuit 41 to feed compressed air into a control cylinder 44 so that a decompression lever 45 is actuated to release an exhaust valve 47. With this arrangement, pumping loss upon decreased cylinder number engine operation may be reduced.</p> |
