DISCHARGE LAMP FOR DISPLAY PANEL

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of lamp characteristics due to unusual temperature rise of an electrode and thermal deterioration of sockets by providing gaps stretching outside through the openings of depressions between the inner peripheries of the depressions and the outer peripheries of both end parts of a bulb. CONSTITUTION:Sockets 8 are fixed to both end parts of a bulb 1 while respective ends of said sockets are provided with receiving depressions 9 to which both ends of the bulb 1 are able to be fitted. The sections of said receiving depressions 9 are circularly formed and their inner peripheries are provided with plural projecting parts 10 closely making contact with both end outer peripheries of the bulb 1 at an interval. A constant gap 11 is formed between the inner peripheries of said depressions 9 and the outer peripheries of both ends of the bulb 1 while said gap 11 is stretched outside through the opening part 12 of the depressions 9. Thereby, unusual temperature rise of the electrode can be prevented while preventing thermal deterioration of the sockets.
