PURPOSE:To realize very high speed decoder of an MH code by executing an encoding by an exclusive decoding circuit only in case of a code in which plural pieces of ''0'' continue at the beginning, when decoding an encoded picture data train. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces (14 pieces) of tri-state buffers of 13-bits are prepared and constituted so that its input line is connected to a signal line 14 by shifting by one bit each, and the output line is wire ORed to connect and one piece in its tri-state buffer group is selected to execute an optional data shift. Accordingly, even in case of an 8-bit constitution, the modulatable code of the MH can be read easily and at a high speed. The MH code inputted to a run- length decoding ROM is converted to a run-length by this ROM. The run-length of an output of the ROM is counted by a run-length counter 6, and a black or white bit number and a white bit number are outputted. Code length 17 is added to an offset register 9 through an adder group 8. |
