PURPOSE:To improve processability and dimensional accuracy by adding the 2nd forging stage before a forging stage for shaping a pin, flange and seat. CONSTITUTION:A piece of a circular cylindrical material is forged to form a bar-shaped part. The circular cylindrical part remaining without being forged in this stage is forged to a tapered shape so as to have the smaller diameter at the end part. The tapered part is forged to form a pin 1, a flange and a seat 3. The flange part is then worked to form a ratchet teeth 2. A reel shaft having the pin 1 of the prescribed length, the flange having the tooth 2 in the outside circumferential part connected to the pin 1, the seat 3 of the flange, and the bar- shaped part connected to the seat surface is thus formed of one circular cylindrical material with good processability and dimensional accuracy. |
