PURPOSE:To prevent unsharpness of a printed matter due to edge effect and to prevent entire fog of the printed matter by providing a control circuit controlling the transmission of a dot pattern in an overlay print. CONSTITUTION:An editing device 1 writes a character pattern address of a space character of the 1st character, number of dots in horizontal direction and number of resters in vertical direction to a character control memory 8 at first. When the write to the character control memory 8 is finished, a character output circuit 7 is started. The character circuit 7 reads the character pattern address of the space character of the 1st character from the character control memory given from the character pattern editing circuit 1 at first. The character pattern address read-out is compared with contents of a specific character pattern address memory 10 in which the space character is stored by a comparator circuit 11. Thus, the address of the specific pattern is stored and the comparator circuit is used, allowing to prevent fog of a printed matter due to double printing and edge effect. |
