<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the durability and rapid heating-up properties of a ceramic heater and facilitate the regeneration of particulate collecting material by incineration by a structure wherein the exhaust particulate collecting material is arranged in the exhasut pipe line of a diesel engine and the porous ceramic heater is arranged at the end surface of the particulate collecting material on the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:Particulate collecting material 3 is arranged in a trap vessel 1. The particulate collecting material 3 is formed in a three dimentional reticulate structure by employing foamed ceramic or the like so as to be able to collect exhaust particulates contained in exhaust gas between reticulation. In addition, the trap vessel 1 is located in the exhaust pipe line 7 of a diesel engine. Further, an electric heater 10, which is to regenerate a trap by burning the exhaust particulates collected by the particulate collecting material 3 when necessary, is arranged at the inlet side end of the trap vessel 1. The electric heater 10 is formed as a ceramic heater consisting in laminatedly arranging heat generating bodies 15, the terminal part 17 of which is connected with a lead wire 21, in ceramic insulating layers 13 at predetermined intervals.</p> |
