<p>PURPOSE:To enable to detect the ignition of a burner by means of a few temperature sensors by a method wherein the ignition of the burner is detected based upon the difference between the exhaust temperature on the upstream side of the burner, which is calculated from the outputs of a rotational frequency sensor and of a load sensor, and the exhaust temperature on the downstream side of the burner. CONSTITUTION:When the arrival of the time to regenerate a trap 3 is judged at a control device 20 based upon the output of a differential pressure sensor 14 to detect the difference between the pressures before and after the exhaust particulate catching trap 3 interposed in the midway of an exhaust passage 2, a burner 4 is started to perform the regeneration of the trap 3. At this time, the difference between the exhaust temperature T0 on the upstream side of the burner 4, which is read out from a memory in response to the outputs of a rotational frequency sensor 11 and of a load sensor 12, and the exhaust temperature T1 on the downstream side of the burner 4 is calculated and the establishment of the ignition of the burner 4 is detected when said difference exceeds a predetermined value. If the establishment of the ignition is not detected within a predetermined period of time, the control device outputs regeneration-stop signals to each apparatus of the burner 4.</p> |
