PURPOSE:To make is possible to easily replace a valve clearance adjusting pad, by forming a clearance between the cam shaft and a tappet under the action of a cam section in association with the rotating operation of a control lever. CONSTITUTION:A hook 17 adapted to be engaged with a cam shaft 4 is secured to the front end a tool body 13, and a thrust member 18 having one end adapted to be abuted against a tappet 8 is movably arranged to the body 13. After engaging the hook 17 with the cam shaft 4 and abutting the thrust member 18 against the tappet 8, when a control lever 22 which is pivotally attached to be other end of the tool body 13 is rotated, the thrust member 18 is moved by a cam section 24 so that the tappet is depressed to form a clearance between the cam shaft 4 and the tappet 8 which clearance is maintained. With this arrangement, a clearance adjusting pad 10 may be easily replaced. |
