PURPOSE:To enable a switching regulator to endure against large power and variation in a load and to be inexpensive by employing an ON/OFF forward converter and coupling a transistor with a resonating capacitor, a starting resistor, a base winding and a reverse current blocking element. CONSTITUTION:The positive side of a DC power source 12 is connected to the -side of the power source 12 through the collector and emitter of a switching transistor 1, a diode 13 and an emitter resistor 14. A starting resistor 16 is inserted between the + side of the power source 12 and the base of the transistor 1, a series circuit of a current limiting resistor 17, a diode 18 as a reverse current blocking element and a base winding 19 is inserted between the emitter and the base of the transistor 1, and a starting and waveform shaping capacitor 20 is inserted between the negative side of the power source 12 and the cathode of the diode 18. A load 4 is coupled through a rectifying diode 3 and a smoothing circuit 4 to the secondary winding 21 of the transformer 2. |
