摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a plastic optical transmission body having the refractive index gradient suitable for mass production by applying a refractive index gradient to a polymer by the leaching and diffusion of a monomer from the mold surface which contacts with the monomer, then completing the polymn. CONSTITUTION:A lens forming mold 3 is placed on a base plate 2 of a material such as a glass plate which has a flat surface and has no possibility to permit permeation of a resin liquid. Female mold spaces 4 for lenses are preliminarily provided to meet the desired shape of the lens in the mold 3. A partly polymerized resin monomer Ma is packed in the spaces 4, and another base plate similar to the plate 2 is placed thereon and after the laminate of the plates 2, 2 and the mold 3 is fixed to avoid sepn. from each other, the laminate is dipped in a resin monomer Mb for forming a refractive index distribution. The laminate is taken out after dipping for a specified time and the polymn. is completed, by which the flat plate-shaped one-dimensional distributed index lens is obtd. A plastic optical transmission body 10 of a distributed index type having various shapes is also easily manufactured by changing the shape in the spaces 4 of the mold 3.
