PURPOSE:To obtain the novel polymer having high durability and chemical resistance, and useful as an anion exchange resin, etc., by copolymerizing a styrene derivative having benzene skeleton substituted with crosslinkable group, hydrocarbon group and halomethyl group, and reacting the copolymer with 2- aminothiazole compound. CONSTITUTION:A divinylbenzene compound, a (substituted) styrene and a haloacetylstyrene are copolymerized to obtain a three-dimensionally crosslinked copolymer containing (A) 2-50mol% of the polymer unit of formula I (R1 is H or 1-4C hydrocarbon group), (B) 0-50mol% of the polymer unit of formula II (R2 is same as R1) and (C) 10-98mol% of the polymer unit of formula III (R3 is same as R1; X is halogen). The objective polymer containing 0-30mol% of the component (C) of formula III, (D) 10-98mol% of the polymer unit of formula IV(R4 is same as R1) and (E) 0-60mol% of the polymer unit of formula V can be prepared by reacting the above crosslinked copolymer with a 2-aminothiazole compound.
