A device for obtaining image signals of electrical quantities by transformer 3 across high-voltage insulation, using a low-voltage primary section 1 situated in a low-voltage environment and a low-voltage secondary section 2 situated in a high-voltage environment. The primary section 1 comprises a power supply circuit 1A providing, via the transformer 3, the electrical power required for the operation of the secondary section 2 in the form of pulses of power together with a receiving circuit 1B; the secondary section 2 comprises a power supply circuit 2A which converts the received pulses of power into voltage and currents and a data conversion circuit 2B which, in the absence of periodic pulses of power, is capable of short-circuiting the secondary of the transformer 3 with a mark-space ratio depending on the magnitude of the electrical quantity whose image at the level of the primary section 1 is required. The receiving circuit 1B measures the durations of the secondary short-circuits and derives an image signal from them. The invention relates to transmissions from high-voltage equipment. <IMAGE>
