PURPOSE:To reduce the electric power consumption as well as the load of the engine to improve the fuel consumption thereof by a method wherein a DC-DC converter is operated for a time, in which the time of ignition discharge caused by an ignition plug becomes 4-6m sec, upon idling of the engine. CONSTITUTION:When the engine is brought into the idling condition, a pulse is outputted from an idle switch 46 and the pulse, having the pulse width of 5m sec, is outputted from a monostable multivibrator 45. According to the pulse, a transistor 49 is put ON, the bases of transistors 37, 38 of a switching circuit 35 are grounded and the DC-DC converter becomes movable. After 5m sec have been elapsed, these transistors are put ON and the DC-DC converter becomes immovable. According to this method, the electric power consumption is reduced and the fuel consumption during idling operation may be improved while the consumption of the electrode of a distributor or the like may be restrained. |
