PURPOSE:To prevent a titled element from being affected by a cut splash and heat when the element is cut, by forming a pattern displaying opposed electrode on the opposed surface, coating an electrode terminal part and a display surface with a film, and preventing a contamination at the time of laser-cutting. CONSTITUTION:A polarizing plate whose supporting body is a polyethylene terephthalate film is used as substrates 15, 16, a suitable ITO pattern is formed on each upper and lower substrate 15, 16, also an oriented film is formed on said pattern, and the upper and lower substrates are stuck by a sealing agent. In this case, in order that the upper and lower patterns can conduct, a conductive paste (a conducting agent whose main component is silver) is applied to a suitable place of the pattern prior to assembly. As for the sealing agent, an epoxy adhesive of a two liquid type is used. On an assembly formed in this way, a film whose thickness is about 0.1mm. is made by spraying a thermosetting resin, and also this film is heated and dried. The assembly having a protective film formed in this way is cut along a cutting line 18 by a laser cutting machine, and a lot of liquid crystal display elements 17 are obtained. |
