PURPOSE:To obtain a reader which is reuducible in size by curving an original to be read and conveying along its trunk line. CONSTITUTION:A readout sensor part 2 which has a photoelectric converting element such as an adhesion type sensor array and an LED array, etc., as a readout irradiation light source to curvature nearly equal to that of a paper guide 1b is provided at the intermediate part between curved-surface cylindrical type paper guides 1a and 1b. The original 5 is inserted between the paper guides 1a and 1b with its read surface on the side of readout sensor 2 and fed by rollers 3a and 4a to the sensor part 2. A read of the original 2 is made at the sensor part 2 by a main scan and subscanning paper feed is performed by rollers 3a and 3b, and 4a and 4b to eject the original. The original 5 is scanned while curved in the curved-surface cylindrical shape, so the width of the reader is reduced below the width of the transmit original, so that the small-sized reader is obtained. |
